Piazza San Marco
The Piazza in front of the Basilica -
even in mid-September there are plenty of tourists

The Piazzetta di San Marco - a satellite of the Piazza -

Ducal Palace
The Ducal Palace fills one side of the Piazzetta.
In 1577, a fire destroyed much of the 1309 structure.
Casanova was imprisoned here in 1756.

San Marco Horses
The "real" San Marco horses
Probably of Roman origin, cast in the 4th century or earlier.
Installed on the basilica facade after being plundered from
Contantinople in 1204, they now reside inside the basilica.
The outside copies are bronze - the originals
are likely an amalgam of copper, silver and gold

Vaporetto Ride
The back of the Vaporetto -
its' not easy to find this seat vacant, but it can't be beat

Venice Rio
A small canal in Venice - probably the Dorsoduro sector

Boat with dog
Dogs enjoy boating too

Campo Zanipolo
Campo Zanipolo - without scaffolding, it would look much
like it did when Canaletto painted it over 200 years ago
