The "real" San Marco horses
Probably of Roman origin, cast in the 4th century
or earlier.
Installed on the basilica facade after being plundered from
Contantinople in 1204, they now reside inside the basilica.
The outside copies are bronze - the originals
are likely an amalgam of copper, silver and gold
The back of the Vaporetto -
its' not easy to find this seat vacant, but it can't be beat
